RDS AIWB is a performance-driven course focused on developing a high level of efficiency, aggressive shooting and accountability with a red-dot-equipped handgun from an AIWB (Appendix Inside the Waistband) concealment holster. Students will learn proven methods for rapidly acquiring the dot, maintaining consistent dot tracking, and shooting aggressively while remaining accountable for every round fired.

This is not a beginner-level class. Students must already be proficient in safe firearms handling and capable of drawing safely from the holster.

The half-day course begins at 8:30 AM with a safety brief, followed immediately by an introduction to principle-based training. From there, students will review and refine fundamental concepts of grip, vision, and trigger press. Instruction will then progress into improving the AIWB draw and presentation, with an emphasis on efficiency and eliminating unnecessary movement and dead time.

The second half of the course focuses on skill-isolation drills, exploring the balance of speed and accuracy, and applying learned principles under increasing performance demands. The day concludes with an opportunity for students to earn the Citizen Defense Standards Patch.

I ask that all students arrive with an idea of at least one thing they would like to improve on and an open mind.
