Meet Todd Springer

Todd Springer is the founder and lead instructor of Citizen Defense Firearms Training. As an active USPSA competitor, he holds an A Class classification in Carry Optics and brings a performance-driven approach to developing capable, accountable concealed carriers.

Todd is a Rangemaster Certified Instructor, NRA Certified Handgun and Concealed Carry Instructor, and NRA Certified Range Safety Officer. He has completed more than 95 hours of formal firearms training, which includes these instructor certification programs as well as additional open-enrollment courses with respected instructors in the firearms training community.

Citizen Defense began from Todd’s own pursuit of becoming a more capable and accountable armed citizen. Throughout that journey, he realized that lasting improvement doesn’t come from simply being told what to do—it comes from understanding how to train. That philosophy became the foundation of Citizen Defense and the Concealment Lab.

Today, Todd’s instruction focuses on helping students understand the principles behind performance so they can diagnose their own shooting, make informed adjustments, and continue improving long after class has ended.
